Leaders from the School for Advanced Studies recently attended the 2025 Spark Symposium for Charter Schools in Little Rock, hosted by the Arkansas Public School Resource Center.
During the event, the School for Advanced Studies was honored with the Trailblazer Award. Associate Head of School Aaron Pellowski accepted the award on behalf of the entire school.
The Trailblazer Award is a statewide award that honors exemplary Arkansas charter schools. Schools are nominated for having innovative best practices and for “blazing a trail” for other charter schools in the state.
As a newly established charter school that is just now completing our first school year, winning this award was especially meaningful to us. We’re humbled to know that our school is serving as an inspiration to other Arkansas charter schools.
Our innovative approach lies in our academic model. Rooted in world liberal arts, our advanced curriculum helps students become confident leaders and engaged global citizens. In high school, students are empowered to pursue their passions with academic concentrations in Fine Arts, Humanities, or Math & Science. We emphasize discussion and collaboration in everything we do, with dynamic seminar-style classes and student advisory groups.
This symposium was a great way for us to make connections within the Arkansas charter school community and learn other schools’ insights and perspectives. We were thrilled to be honored at this year’s event, and we’re looking forward to next year!
The School for Advanced Studies is a tuition-free charter school for grades 5–12, located in Rogers, Arkansas. We are open to all students in Arkansas, with no entrance exams. Apply today to secure your child’s seat for the 2025–26 school year!
