School for Advanced Studies Northwest Arkansas Celebrates 2026 ATLAS Results, A Rating, and GEM School Recognition

School for Advanced Studies Northwest Arkansas (SAS NWA) is celebrating another year of exceptional achievement after earning statewide recognition for its 2026 Arkansas Teaching, Learning, and Assessment System (ATLAS) results. SAS NWA earned an A rating for the 2025-26 school year and received Arkansas GEM School recognition after ranking in the top 5 percent of schools statewide for student achievement.

Together, SAS NWA’s growing reputation as one of Arkansas’ leading public schools and reflects the dedication of its students, teachers, staff, and families. They also underscore the school’s commitment to providing a student-centered educational experience that challenges students to think deeply, engage meaningfully, and achieve at high levels. 

Students Outperform State Averages on ATLAS Assessments

The latest ATLAS results showed SAS NWA students continuing to outperform statewide averages across core academic subjects. In English language arts, 73.9% of assessments met proficiency standards compared to 39.5% statewide. In science, 70.5% met proficiency standards compared to 44% statewide, while mathematics proficiency reached 62%, compared to 44.2% across Arkansas. 

ATLAS, Arkansas’ statewide assessment system, measures student progress toward grade-level standards and college and career readiness. While no single assessment captures the full student experience, the results provide an important indicator of academic performance and highlight the strong foundation students are building across subject areas.

School for Advanced Studies Northwest Arkansas Receives Highest Accountability Rating

SAS NWA earned an A rating for the 2025-26 school year, the highest designation awarded through Arkansas’ school accountability system. The rating reflects strong performance across multiple measures of school quality and student success, providing families with an independent indicator of the school’s effectiveness in preparing students for future success.

Arkansas GEM School Recognition Highlights Student Achievement

SAS NWA also earned recognition as an Arkansas GEM School for the 2025-26 school year, a new honor awarded by the Arkansas Department of Education to schools demonstrating exceptional achievement, strong academic growth, sustained improvement, or excellence across multiple measures of student success. As part of that recognition, SAS NWA ranked among the top 5% of Arkansas schools within its grade span on the Achievement indicator, placing it among a select group of schools recognized for outstanding student performance statewide.

While each recognition measures school success differently, together they tell a consistent story: through a curriculum built on intellectual curiosity, seminar-style learning, collaborative projects, and meaningful exploration, students are developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for success in high school, college, and beyond.
