Introducing Elizabeth Curington:

Library Media Specialist and English Teacher

Welcome Elizabeth Curington!

Ms. Curington has been an English teacher in the Rogers Public Schools for over 20 years. Ms. Curington has taught 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. Her motto is “Every kid is a reader.” They just might not have found the right book –yet!

Ms. Curington spent her childhood exploring the world through books. Narnia, Anne of Green Gables, and Middle Earth were as familiar to her as her own backyard. Elizabeth’s excitement about sharing a love of books is what sent her back to college to get another master’s degree in library media from Arkansas Tech University.

Just reading about adventure is not enough for her. When Elizabeth had the chance to study abroad while at the University of Arkansas, the travel bug bit her. She has sailed up the Bosporus to Istanbul, seen the white nights in St. Petersburg, watched Shakespeare’s plays performed at the Globe Theatre, and ridden a camel through Morocco with the Bedouins.

When Elizabeth isn’t travelling, she can be found at home with one of her many pets in her lap, reading a book or baking something delicious. Her husband and three kids keep her pretty busy – but don’t worry; Elizabeth always carries a book with her, just in case.

Her experience with helping students dive into texts and find a passion will serve Ms. Curington and her students well in her new role as an English Teacher and Library Media Specialist at the School for Advanced Studies.
